The beautiful and spoilt Yerusalem had a wonderful life in Paris as the wife of the Eritrean Ambassador. When radical nationalists assassinate her husband she is forced to flee for her life without the protection of the government or friends. Yerusalem eventually finds herself an illegal refugee in a decrepit area in southern Tel Aviv. Among the desperation and poverty, she does not give up and struggles with all her might to regain her former status. This compelling film propels us into the realities of life for those on the margins of Israeli society and highlights the complexities for those thrown into becoming stateless and loosing their identity.
