Director: Joshua Weinstein | USA / Israel | 2017 | Docu-Drama | Yidish | English Subtitles | 82 mins

This surprising Sundance hit takes place deep in the heart of New York’s ultra-orthodox Hasidic Jewish community.
Menashe, is a complex and lovable schlemiel. Following his wife’s death he is fighting for custody of his son Rieven and struggling with his aversion to marrying again. Chasidic tradition prohibits him from raising his son alone, so Rieven’s strict uncle adopts him, leaving Menashe heartbroken. However his rabbi grants him one special week with his son before Leah’s memorial.
A tender drama performed entirely in Yiddish, the film intimately explores the nature of faith and the price of parenthood.
